CMB airport: usually about 10-15 minutes by taxi or tuk-tuk.
Negombo Lagoon: nearby for quiet walks, birds, boats and local life.
Kurana Station: useful for simple train trips toward Colombo Fort.
Negombo Beach: easy by tuk-tuk or bicycle, especially for sunset and dinner.

Good base for airport nights
Kurana is a practical choice for early flights, late arrivals, first nights and last nights. If you have extra time, it is also close enough to Negombo's lagoon, beach, fish market and train links to make a short stay feel useful rather than wasted.
